Some Signs of Spring

Spring is coming! And I have evidence to prove it. My hydrangeas are budding...

My tulips are peeking out of the ground, one at a time...

And the Carolina Jessamine is beginning to bloom. Right beside my back porch swing.

I planted my spring veggie garden. Finally. I've got carrots (scarlet nantes), radishes (cherry belle), swiss chard (ruby), and sugar snap peas. No seedlings yet, but the weather is supposed to be fabulous the next few days (sunny, highs in the lower 60s-lower 70s), and I am expecting to see some seedlings on Sunday when I get back from my weekend trip.

Chip and I are heading to New Orleans for some much needed R&R. We've got some fun things planned. Chip wants some raw oysters, so we're going to Acme Oyster House tonight. We have reservations at Herbsaint on Saturday night. I am really looking forward to having cocktails and listening to the jazz bands at the Spotted Cat on Frenchman Street. Mix in some antiquing on Magazine Street in the Garden District (now that we know that Eli Manning goes antiquing, it is a legitimate man activity) and of course Saks Fifth Avenue, and this will really be the perfect weekend trip.

Speaking of Eli, I heard that he was at the Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State basketball game on Wednesday night. Got a standing ovation and everything. And I hear he is building a house in Oxford. How cool! I wish I had been at that game! Listening to the games on the radio just doesn't cut it...

Hopefully I'll have some neato seedling photos soon. I am soooo looking forward to my first veggie garden.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I wish it would warm up a little more here! Looks like you are getting all set for spring and summer with flower blooming and veggies growing.

Have fun on your weekend getaway! I wish I could get Brian to head down to New Orleans for the weekend. He's not a big fan, but I think it's because he hasn't been in years and actually do things other than Bourbon Street.

I'm happy to see that Eli is not forgetting Oxford and Ole Miss. Allie, Chad, and I saw him at the Grocery Monday night.
